How to Use Classroom Technology: Virtual, Hybrid, and In-Person

Guide

The device outside the classroom or meeting space will display the booked Teams or Zoom meeting that you or the automated classroom scheduling process has scheduled. Refer to the Booking Classrooms and Meeting Spaces article on our Knowledgebase at support.adler.edu for the procedure on booking rooms.

On the large display screen in front of the room, ensure the input is set to HDMI 1 with the toolbars on either side of the screen or on one of the shortcuts from the home screen.

Inside the classroom or meeting space, check that the touchscreen panel on the credenza is on and that your scheduled meeting is displayed.  Since the meeting has an online component, the button on the lower right of the meeting will say Join. Click Join to start the Zoom or Teams meeting using the room equipment.

The room will use the camera and speaker bar on the top of the large display screen.

Next, you'll want to join the meeting with your laptop to share content. Open the meeting in your Outlook Calendar and click on the link in the description.

Mute your device speakers to prevent feedback from the classroom microphones

Teams Zoom
In Teams, turn your microphone off while joining the meeting.

In Teams, select Share content. Select Include computer sound if using audio/video. Click on the Screen listed under Screen to begin sharing.

Note:If you are using a Mac computer, and sharing sound for the first time, you'll be asked to allow Teams to use your microphone and speaker from System Preferences by entering your Mac's administrator credentials. This setting should only need to be set the first time you share sound.

In Zoom, join the call with Audio and then mute your microphone.

In Zoom, select Share Screen, make sure the screen or app you want is selected, select Share Sound, and Optimize for video clip if using audio/video. Select Share.

Note: If you are using a Mac computer, and sharing sound for the first time, you'll be asked to allow Zoom to use your microphone and speaker from System Preferences by entering your Mac's administrator credentials. This setting should only need to be set the first time you share sound.
