Microsoft Teams lets you configure your voicemail and the settings such as the greeting, call answer rules and out of office greeting.
Check Voicemail
To check your voicemail:
- Click on the Calls icon
- Under the Calls menu, click on the Voicemail option
- Select a voicemail from the list and use the playback controls to listen to the recording.
Voicemail Settings
Voicemail settings include greeting recording, answering rules options, selection of greeting language, text-to-speech customization and out of office greeting. To change your voicemail settings:
- Click on your profile picture and then Settings > Calls
- After the section about Call Answering rules, select the option Configure voicemail.
Record a new Greeting
To add a new greeting, click on the Record a greeting option.
Changing Answering Rules
In the voicemail settings, there is also the option of selecting answering rules for callers when they reach your voicemail. The rules can be defined by clicking on the Call answer rules. These are the options available:
- Let the caller record a message.
- Let the caller record a message or be transferred to someone else.
- End the call without playing your greeting.
- Play your greeting and end the call.
- Transfer the call to someone else.
Other Voicemail Settings
There is the option of selecting a greeting when you are Out of Office. Type your out of office greeting in Your custom out of office greeting under Text-to-speech customized greeting, then choose when you'd like it to play under Out of office greeting.
