Scan Documents

The large printers around campus can scan documents. By default, the logged in user will receive the scanned document by email.

After logging in to the printer, choose Scan from the main menu.

Scanning from the Platen Glass

This scanner is useful for scanning a textbook page. If scanning multiple pages, use the feeder at the top of the printer instead for a faster, easier experience.

Place the first sheet of paper being scanned face-down on the scanning bed. Set it flat against both the top and left edges of the platen glass. On the touchscreen, check that the fields are all correct. These settings include the destination email address, color options, multiple sides, paper size, and resolution. When ready, select one of the Start buttons.

There are text entry fields for the Subject and Filename, along with buttons to change settings and start the scan. The checkbox labeled "Prompt for more pages" beside the Start button is ticked.

You will see a message that the scan is being processed.

When the page has been scanned, select Scan next page to scan another page or select Finish to complete. A prompt to turn the page over will appear if you've picked multiple sides.

You will return to the main menu when complete. Log out from here.

The scan will appear as an email in your inbox approximately 10 minutes after scanning. You will be the sender and the subject will read Your scan (Scan to E-Mail).

Note: PaperCut sends you scanned documents to your email. Individual scan jobs are limited by the email attachment size of 13 MB. If you exceed this limit, we recommend you split the scan into multiple jobs. It's also possible to save your scanned document to a USB drive.
