How to Connect to the EDUROAM Campus WiFi Network

What is eduroam?

Eduroam is a secure, encrypted Wi-Fi network available at Adler and the preferred Wi-Fi connection method for Adler students, faculty, and staff. Eduroam (‘education roaming’) is a global wireless network access service for research and education that allows users from Adler to securely access the Internet from any eduroam-enabled institution worldwide, including Adler. Your current Adler email address and password combination will allow you to connect to wireless networks at participating eduroam locations and Universities. Other guests who do not have an Adler account or are not from eduroam-participating universities need to use AU-Guest Wifi access instead of eduroam.

How to access the eduroam wireless network

If you are a current student, faculty, or staff at Adler University, use your full Adler email address and password to access the eduroam Wi-fi network.

Be sure to select Trust to trust the Adler certificate and successfully connect.

On an Android/Chromebook?

These devices typically ask for additional information. Use the following settings:

SSID (Wi-fi name) eduroam
Security 802.1x EAP
Phase-2 Authentication MSCHAPV2
CA Certificate Unspecified (alt.: Do not validate)
Identity [username]
Anonymous Identity [leave blank]
Password [current email password]
Proxy Settings None

Additional Troubleshooting

Here are some of the most common fixes:

  • Make sure you're using your full Adler email address in the username field
  • Press "forget this network" in your Wi-fi settings for the eduroam network, then reconnect
  • Try logging into Adler Connect or a PC in the computer lab to verify your password has not expired (you'll be prompted to update it, if so)

Additional Notes

  • In some cases, after changing their password, users that are connected to eduroam with their mobile device will get their account locked by the mobile device trying multiple times to reconnect using the old password. Please update your password on your mobile device when changing it.
