Updating Your Password through Windows
For those with their own Adler-assigned Windows computer, resetting a password will follow a specific process to avoid later complications with Microsoft Office programs. The first step will change depending on whether you're on-campus or working remotely.
-
If on-campus: connect to Eduroam wifi
If remote with a VPN account: connect to Adler VPN (instructions available here:
https://support.adler.edu/support/solutions/articles/17000049424)
If remote without a VPN account: follow the instructions here, paying special attention to bullet #4 under Additional Notes:
https://support.adler.edu/support/solutions/articles/17000006847 - Close all Office apps, such as Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- On your keyboard, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and choose Change Password
- Follow the prompts, entering your old password and then the desired password twice. Password requirements can be found later in the article.
- Lock your computer by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL again and choosing Lock, then sign in with your new password.
- Open your Office apps and sign in if prompted.
Password Requirements
Your new password must follow these rules:
- 8 or more characters long
- Include 3 of the following 4: an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, or symbol
- Cannot be a previously-used password
- Cannot include your own name
