Manage multiple Microsoft accounts with browser profiles

If users try to sign in to one account while they're already signed in with another, they will automatically be logged in to the first account instead of being prompted for the new one. The way we get around this is by using profiles. Different profiles can be used in the same browser to separate active sign-ins, bookmarks, and user information. We recommend users with dual roles use a separate profile for each role.
Note: Multiple browser profiles are not a built-in feature of Safari. If you use Safari as your primary browser, we recommend you pick one account to use it with and use a different browser for other accounts.

Make a new browser profile

Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome
Select the profile icon at the top-right of the browser. It will have either your Office Profile photo or your initials on it if you're signed in. If you're not signed in, it will be the silhouette of a person's head. Select +Add profile. Confirm this by selecting Add

A new window will open. It will have a separate icon on the Taskbar. If you're on Edge, you can sign in to sync the account's data. In Chrome, you'll be able to name the profile but not sign in to the browser since it's not a Gmail account.

You can switch between profiles by opening the profile menu again and clicking on the profile you want to switch to. You can also create separate shortcuts for individual profiles on your desktop.

Firefox
Enter about:profiles in the address bar. You'll see a list of profiles in the browser. Choose Create a New Profile to set up another.

Proceed through the menu and name the profile to set it up. You can select Launch profile in new browser to open a window with the profile or manage your profile settings on this page.
